first phase ❁ [action // voice]
[This isn’t the first time Kitty’s woken up in a completely different place than where she fell asleep. In fact lately, it seems like all the crazy stuff happens to her the moment she closes her eyes. First the thing with her powers manifesting in the middle of the night and waking up on her basement floor, then the thing with Danielle, and now this. Is a good night’s sleep really so much to ask? Or maybe she’s just being dramatic. There’s a pretty good chance of that.
All she knows is she definitely can’t seem to shake this weird feeling of déjà vu. Even the wings didn’t surprise her much. Or, well, maybe a little at first, but she kind of has bigger things to worry about because the more she wanders around, the more she remembers. And soon, she’s stumbling upon the village. She walks through the town square, her bare feet dirty and still wearing her Newfeather sundress. She runs a hand along the fountain’s smooth stone, peers in each storefront window, studies every face that passes by for any hint of familiarity.
Eventually she stumbles upon the doors of Seventh Heaven, drawn by the familiar smell of cooking. She isn't hungry, but it feels like a safe place to sit down and gather her thoughts. So she takes a table by the window and cracks open the strange book she found next to her when she woke up in the forest.
A few minutes of studying, and that weird déjà vu is back again as she goes through the motions of making a post. She's done this before. She knows it.]
Um... Hello? [She bites her lip, unsure of what to say next.] My name's Kitty, and I know this sounds kinda crazy, but I think I've been here before. Everything is way too familiar. But I don't even know how I got here...
[Or even where here is. Could this be some kind of hallucination? Is this going to turn into some kind of nightmare? She was sharing a room with Danielle, after all.
But no. It's too real. This can't be a dream. Yeah, she's said that before, but...
Now she totally feels crazy and the realization that she might be trapped and alone in this weird place with these wings on her back is starting to sink in. Her voice wavers a bit.]
Can...can anyone tell me if they know someone named Kurt? Or maybe Rogue or Ororo? I don't know why, but I have this really funny feeling they might be here.

[Voice, filtered]
Kurt left. There's still plenty of people here from your world though.
[And no, he's not introducing himself. It's Kitty's own fault for not bothering to meet him last time she was here.]
[Voice, filtered]
They're here? Really? Where can I find them? And what do you mean he left? Where did he go? What is this place, anyways?
[But that means he was here and maybe she's not completely crazy and augh, so. many. questions.]

As for the rest, Rogue an' Storm're here. So's Wolverine. Kurt went home, but considerin' how fast folks from back home're showin' up, he could be here again any day now.
[Voice]
[Knock it off, Kitty, he's just trying to help. Who cares if he's one of Magneto's cronies.
Well, she does, but that's beside the fact.
Sigh.]
Sorry. I guess you're just trying to help. So they're really here, huh? And we all showed up here like, just by accident?

So she enters and stops abruptly at the door. You don't forget your roommate's face.]
Kitty?
[ action you hooligan ]
Rogue! [She runs, literally runs over to Rogue with a relieved skip in her step. She's still in her Newfeather sundress, and her hair is down around her shoulders. In her arms, she clutches her journal tightly to her chest.] So you really are here! Tell me this isn't some crazy dream.
[She's had her share of hallucinations for one lifetime, thank you very much.]

He wasn't even going to head home. He just threw himself on the nearest bench, hunched forward. Reign yourself in, Logan. Time to get back to the house, clean up, and get back to doing that whole 'domestic' thing.]

Without a second thought she dashes outside, bare feet quieting her footsteps. As she gets nearer, she approaches slowly. She's seen him like this before, and she knows better than to recklessly approach him.
Gently:] Mister Logan?

Hey, welcome back! ...Well, sort of. This isn't really the welcoming kind of place.
[She probably doesn't remember him, but it's worth a shot anyway.]
[voice]
Um, thanks. Though I don't really remember being here the first time.
I guess we met before, huh?

Kitty's already on edge, and with her frazzled nerves, she does something she hasn't done in quite a while: loses control of her phase, making her slide right through her chair and landing her flat on her butt on the ground behind her.]

[But anger quickly dies into bewilderment when she realizes just what she's looking at. A mermaid. A real live mermaid. Or maybe she's just some type of mutant? Either way, she's really pretty and looks like she just swam out of a storybook.] Um... hi.
